Welcome to Old School Boxing, Darlington. A Sport England affiliated amateur boxing club, delivering junior and seniors classes from age 10+.

About Us

Old School Boxing was established in 2021 by National Boxing Champion and ex-professional boxer Michael Hall (Oscar Hall) and Adam Batley. Between them Michael and Adam have years of boxing experience in both the amateur and professional sport.

Boxing is a sport that will test you both mentally and physically . Old School Boxing gives you a friendly but competitive environment where you'll be surrounded by like-minded people who are egaer to learn and develop their boxing skills and rise to the top of their game.

Timetable

Junior Class (Age 10 –15)

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 6–7pm

(Sunday 5-6pm Carded Boxers only)

Senior Class (Age 16+)

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7–8pm

(Sunday 5-6pm Carded Boxers only)

Junior Class

For children 10–15 years old from beginner to experienced.

Senior Class

Age 16+ for experienced amateurs and those looking to get into the sport.

Founder & Head Trainer

Michael Hall

Boxing from the age of 9, Michael has had 99 amateur fights, 3 school-boy titles, junior ABA champion and senior ABA champion. He travelled around the world representing England in over 20 contests including European and World championships. He had 26 fights as professional boxer fighting under the name Oscar Hall on the undercard of some world championship contests. Since retiring at the age of 33, Michael has continued to work in the sport, training boxers on a one to one basis in addition to regular group boxercise classes at various gyms in Darlington.

Adam Batley

Adam has been training and competing in combat sports for over 25 years. His track record of success includes Junior Amateur Kick Boxer, Senior Professional Thai Boxer and Senior Amateur Masters Boxer. Adam has a wealth of experience in coaching and cornering fighters in boxing, MMA and Thai boxing.
